Late Night @ D'Amour

As the end of the semester and exams approach, D'Amour Library, the Office of Information Technology and Public Safety are pleased to announce that a late-night computer/study area in D'Amour Library will be available again this semester. On a Sunday - Thursday basis beginning April 28 and ending May 9, the computer lab located on the ground level of D'Amour, G26, will be open between 1:00 AM and 7:45 AM for use by Western New England College students.

This computer lab seats 38 and offers the full Microsoft Office suite, Internet access, and black and white printing. The log-in requirements are the same for the computers in G26 as for the computers in D’Amour Library so all students should be sure that their username and password are working before using the lab.

The safety of students using this study space is of paramount concern to the College. Security cameras have been positioned to monitor both the computer lab and the entrance to the building. Public Safety officers will conduct hourly checks of the area through the night. Only registered students will have access to the building during the 1:00-7:45 AM period and access will be limited to the ground level. In order to use this room after D'Amour Library closes at 1:00 AM, you must have your ID. For this special time period only, all students will be granted access rights to the employee entrance located on the parking lot side of the building (south end). Each student will have to enter and exit through this door and a record will be kept of all IDs read. Please note that a campus telephone is located just outside the room so Public Safety can be called should any emergency arise during these extended hours.

We hope that you will make use of this space following the closing of D'Amour Library at 1:00 AM during the final two weeks of the semester. Remember that D'Amour Library will be closed and no library services will be available during these hours. However, all of D’Amour Library's electronic resources will be accessible via the Web.

Extended Hours for Finals

During the last week of classes and exam week, D'Amour Library will remain open until 1:00 AM, Sunday-Thursday nights.

Student Art on Display

D’Amour Library invites you to stop by the Clarke Reading Room to view drawings and paintings by several Western New England College student artists. Currently the works of Nicholas Albrecht, Erin Carter, Erika Giorgio, Kayla Landry, Meghan Rose, and Brittney Simon, exploring color and light, are on display until February 29, 2008. Selected works from otherstudent artists will follow in March and April. These works originated from Art 105 and Art 116 classes taught by Lorna Ritz during the Fall 2007 semester.
